Tea and Toast

breakfast-867822_1920

Yesterday, I was so greatly encouraged by a dear sister in Christ.  She encouraged me to simplify my spiritual diet when going through a spiritual storm/sickness, just as we simplify our diet when we are physically unwell.  So this morning, as I sat and ate my regular breakfast, I shared the moment with the Lord and this poem is what resulted.  You would be very blessed by going to this sister’s blog and listening to the Lord’s words of wisdom, encouragement and blessing through what she shares in her 9 minute video called Episode #10 “Spiritual Storms & Sickness” by clicking on this link Love, Bridget. It was Life to me. 🙂

Every morning as I eat toast and drink tea

I’m reminded of ‘Christ in me’.

I remember the brokenness of His body

the Covenant of His blood

The promise of His Kingdom come.

My daily bread with melting butter

Peanut butter and vegemite

Reminds me how He has melted my heart

And set things right.

He has made me the salt of the earth

and has smothered me

in His warm love

just like the tea.

With every sip that I drink down

I’m reminded of that Kingly crown.

That King of kings and Lord of lords

That One who died for us all.

His promise of return

To embrace His bride.

That blood that flowed out

from His side.

My daily bread

My daily drink.

Of His sufferings will I partake.

Of His joy and resurrected life

I share in these

My great delight.

Enjoy a simple day with the Lord folks! 🙂

God Is Love

IMG_4904

What can you see in this tree?

What you see, is it Me?

Do you see I am more than one,

I am three?

Do you see in the centre

what there resides?

Do you see it is a sacrifice?

A trunk burned by lightening

from heavens I made

to ensure that our love

in this tree is displayed.

Our giving over

again and again

the Father to the Spirit

and back again

The Father to the Son

and the Son to the Father

The Spirit to the Son

flowing one to the other.

This is our dance

seen here in this tree,

our dance of love

flowing and free.

This is Love

a picture of Me

I must have an object

to give to you see.

I cannot exist

as one individual

I must pour out my life

this tree is a visual.

Look with intent

and see who I am

that I would give My life

to you –  man.

Jesus – the River of Life

Follow the streams that lead to the River, I heard Him whisper.

When it seems you’ve lost your way

look for the streams, though small.

Follow the streams, trek through the thicket

you’ll find your way to the waterfall.

(And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it – 1 Corinthians 10:13).

My Resting Place

Jesus You fill me

Like a childhood imaginary friend,

Like a baby in its mother’s tummy,

Like a newly acquired love interest that consumes my every waking moment

You are with me, everywhere, always,

Ever in my thoughts,

Consciously present with me.

I go to sleep and you are there

I wake up and you are there

Truly, as in the words of the Psalmist,

Where can I go from Your Spirit?

Where can I hide from Your love?

You are Teacher

Lover

King

Friend

Brother

Counsellor

My imaginary friend who is not imagined

My solace, peace, comfort

You are my health, my healing, my joy and my strength

You are that River in my dreams

In which I jump, and ride its rushing streams

You fill me completely

I am immersed in You Oh Lord,

In You I rest at all times

You are underneath and You cover me

You hem me in

The Tree

The tree needs branches to bear fruit

A head needs a body to express itself

God wants the church to express Himself

Jesus is the image of the invisible God.

He is the Tree of life –

The Vine tree.

Jesus is the Head of His church.

The church is the Body of Christ.

Jesus said “I am the Vine, you are the branches”,

unless you remain in the vine you cannot bear fruit.

The All-ness of the Cross

All the world knows the shape of Your cross Lord.

So simple.

Two beams crossing.

One beam pointing direct North and direct South.

One beam pointing direct East and direct West.

Your cross reaches in every direction.

How far & wide, how deep & high is Your love expressed by Your cross.

Your arms on Your cross stretched from the East to the West.

Your Headship is from heaven and You are our True North.

Your blood flowed southward into the earth.

As You were already with God in the beginning,

and chose to confine Your glory to the limitations

of a man –

so speaks Your cross of humility and plainness in the sight of mankind

yet gloriously and magnificently extravagant in its reach.

Your cross has no bounds.

Your blood sacrifice, You – the  sacrificial Lamb –

the eternal atonement for all mankind.

There is no measure to Your cross Jesus.

There is no measure to You.

Until Christ Is Formed In You – (A poem by my husband)

Until Christ is Formed in You

There is a Christmas morn

Celebrated each an’ every day

When Christ the Saviour is born

Not in feeding trough or hay

But in hearts who choose believing

Having seen the Son of God

Through faith in hearing receiving

The Life that comes from above

That Life grows daily increasing

In hearts of those now changed

Ever fuller deeper and wider

None will ever be the same

A will of our own no longer

Our life surrendered from view

A decreasing of one for the other

Until Christ is formed in you

One heart one mind one purpose

Given to His will from above

To surrender all for our Master

His Life expressed through Love

As one this Christ is revealed

Not a single part left out

We need each one to see the Son

Full measure full stature full clout

He’s revealed to all His timeless plan

To unveil His ageless story

His Victory over death ‘n’ Devil

Christ in us the Hope of Glory

All Praise the King of Life

He’s done with shame and loss

He’s restored to Him the Fullness

Who entrusted to Him the lot

His Love is never failing

Eternally none shall ever fall

From Grace complete and saving

His Life that is All in All.

A Poem of Thanksgiving

For those in Christ Jesus who may be taking up the American tradition of ‘Thanksgiving’ get-together this weekend. Here is a most glorious vision in poetry to Jesus, of thanksgiving by a dear sister in The Lord. I pray it captures the hearts of all who read it and perhaps you will share it at any gatherings with the saints this weekend ……..enjoy the spectacle that is Christ and His Bride!
